Disconnect to Reconnect: Finding Community Through Creativity

Let’s be honest — our phones are basically glued to our hands. Between scrolling, texting, and checking “just one more thing,” it’s easy to feel busy but not necessarily connected.

What if we could put the screens down for a while and rediscover the beauty of simply being present — with God, with ourselves, and with each other?

That’s the heart behind our paint parties: a space to disconnect from distractions and reconnect through creativity, laughter, and community.

Created for Connection

From the very beginning, we were made for relationship. Our God IS community (God, Holy Spirit, Jesus). And He created us in His image.
Genesis 2:18 says, “It is not good for the man to be alone.”
And throughout Scripture, we see that living in community — sharing meals, stories, and experiences — is one of the most life-giving parts of following Jesus.

Acts 2:46 paints such a beautiful picture of this:

“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.”

In our modern world, that kind of togetherness can feel rare. But when we gather to paint, laugh, and create, we’re stepping back into that rhythm of connection — practicing the way of Jesus by being present with one another.

Creativity as a Spiritual Practice

When you pick up a paintbrush, you’re joining in on the creative nature of God Himself.
After all, the very first verse of the Bible tells us:

“In the beginning, God created…” (Genesis 1:1)

There’s something holy about slowing down, mixing colors, and letting your imagination come to life.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about presence.
And sometimes, painting is just the reminder we need that God delights in our joy, play, and creativity.

Where Faith Meets Fun

Whether you come with friends, your small group, or solo, paint parties create space for genuine connection — the kind that doesn’t need Wi-Fi.

You’ll share laughs, stories, and maybe even a few paint splatters, but more than that, you’ll walk away refreshed, renewed, and reminded that we were never meant to do life alone.

As Proverbs 27:17 says:

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Practice the Way of Presence

In a noisy, busy world, slowing down to paint might just be one of the most joyful ways to practice presence — to breathe, to listen, and to connect.

So come as you are. Bring your friends (or make new ones!).
Let’s disconnect to reconnect — with God, with community, and with the creative spirit He’s placed in all of us.

Join us for a paint party and see how colorful community can be.
